Yellow bass swim in procession diagonally across the page. The black longitudinal stripes of the fish accentuate the linear direction of this movement. This gyotaku was made with a single fish caught in the lower Salt River east of Mesa, Arizona. The yellow bass is native to the lower Mississippi River valley, but has been introduced to several lakes in Arizona.
